This is a presentation of my summer task in which I was to research two thriller openings, I researched L.A. Confidential and Casino Royal. I investigated and topics such as narrative, theme, genre, cinematography and representation, I presented my work using the programme called Prezi as I felt it provided the adequate fluidity and style to present my work to its full potential.
A promising analysis which also indicates some independent research which strengthens your points whilst making your response more interesting.
ReplyDeleteYour analysis is confident and articulate and suggests that with more practice you could achieve Level 4 (an A grade in your case studies)
To further strengthen:
1) Check your analysis for spelling/typing errors.
2) The contrasts between the two openings needs to be made. For example the opening to Casino Royale engages the audience immediately in the action whilst strongly establishing the film's noir credentials. (see page 6 of your booklet for conventions of noir thrillers. Whilst the opening to "LA Confidential" with the use of the voice over is more detached and relies on the reporter's point of view rather than in your face action.
Keep up the good work and endeavour to submit your photographs to your blog and any aspects of skills-o-rama that you have not tried out.
