Here is an example of the 180 degree rule. The rule states that a character or object must always be on one side of the screen which forms an imaginary line, the camera is then only allowed to be 180 degree from this line. If the camera or objects were to cross over or change sides of this imaginary line, they would therefore be breaking the rule. Breaking this rule could cause confusion to the audience and disrupt the fluidity of the sequence.
