THRILLER PLANNING: INITIAL CONCEPTS

Here are some of my initial concepts for my thriller opening. I examine my ideas, reasoning and influences with the costume, characters and locations in my piece and how they will be used to influence the audience. With particular attention to the genre and certain thriller conventions I may use in my final production.

  1. I'm pleased you've posted your concept.

Be aware of discussing your use of gender stereotypes in that it is the girl who is the victim. Thus your film uses traditional representations of gender.

Be careful that your film doesn't look to much like a horror film. Your idea seems fine, but somewhere a long the way if you have time I suggest your female character displays some inner strength as in the character Lisbeth Salander the computer hacker in "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.....Upon her first appearance in the series, she is described as a pale, skinny young woman who had hair as short as a fuse, and a pierced nose and eyebrows....read up about the character on Wikipedia. Better still watch the Swedish film "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo".

She is undomesticated, has multiple identities and etc.

Just a thought and more interesting that representing some helpless girl....
